needs some work but its all there and usable
the yellow cables were a vain attempt to help with the starting in the mornings!!

oh yeah has 4 branch system gti brakes, seats blah blah blah……..

its now got a standard 2 lamp grill and spats fitted. oh and a standard back box!

other than that its as i brought it in feb this year.

im not taking any credit/responsibility for it! as a prev owner had done the engine swap etc

You've got yourself a nice mk1 there. Grill and backbox change a good move. The smooth tailgate looks good.

thanks for the comments, plans are to sort the electrical gremlins, improve the head lights and just enjoy driving it, though i dont know if i or my neighbours can put up with the cold starting in the mornings (its my daily) so perhaps an engine change or even carburation change, something with a choke basically!!

Hi Bugfez, thanks for sharing the pictures. I owned the car many years ago.

One thread below

https://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=modifications-and_2%2Ftwin-40-s

I'll upload some pictures when I get chance.

It's not changed much in 14+ years. Used to have a single wiper conversion (back when they were cool!).

The twin 40s used to snap necks when starting up.

I was so tired last night after work, I thought the post was started in 2020!
Then realised I was 11 years late.
Apologies..
