Interesting slider top on the roof of the golf. Looks like the Beetle ragtops. Would you have any pics of the roof on the inside with the headliner off?

i am also planning on using zx9r carbs and i hear i may need to change my fuel pump?? is there anything else i need to be aware of running it on carbs??? also does any one know if my original 4speed box will fit straight on this engine?? and engine mount is there one that fits or do i need to make one???

thanks

Post

gear box mount needs to be shortened. not sure on your four speed..but if it fits might not need to change mount.
yea need new pump, a facet or a bike pump
 this might help.

i know this may be a silly question but an unsure as want to run on bike carbs and no ecu, how do i go about this as that thread uses the ecu for advance?? gunna see this week if gearbox will fit by trying to bolt it on

Post

not sure i was going to do it on mine but decided not to atm. ive put them in the shed for a rainy day. for the same sorta reasons .

tonight have bought a set of ZX9R bike carbs for it and just trying to still get my head around this advance timing thing???? vacum dizzys, running ecu? ideal i would like carbs bolted on with no vacum pipes as little cables and pipes as poss! i have heard that you need to have advance timing some how to get full rpm range running.

with bike carbs ways to get advance timing are either.
1.run ecu
2.vacume dizzy
3.weighted dizzy??

if vacum dizzy used whats it off how to fit??

really do want to avoid electrics and ecu's where possible.
