To my mind it's hit the top price already but with 8 and 1/2 days left the mind boggles!  

Let's see where this one goes?    

Cars first registered in NI that retain their original numbers do seem to attact special interest over here, though that's not to say there's necessarily a premium paid for them.

OIJ is probably from around the time the car was nearly new or soon after and ties in with what the seller says, but unfortunately for them it doesn't make it a true NI car.

Having said that there is a demand for older NI numbers in their own right and that might artificially bump the final price up.

They're apparently now unobtainable through the licencing authorities so if you're after one for any classic car it means privately buying one already issued or, as in this case, the whole car to get it.

If it's bought solely for the number, might not be good news for the car… hope not.
