What Gearboxes fit

Hi

My other VW a 1.6 carb scirocco needs a new gearbox. It originally had a 4+E box box fitted.

What choices do I have for a replacment and will any of the gearboxes from the later Mk2 or 3 golf fit?

Or does anyone here have a box for sale

Any 020 gearbox will fit, Mk1 Golf, Mk2 Golf, Mk1 Golf cabriolet, Scirocco Mk1 and Mk2.

You need to check what size flanges you have on your Gearbox/ drive shafts, how to check this is in the link above.

Your gearbox should have a code on stamped on it, posssibly a 4T? You should then be able to see the gearing etc on the site above.
