Occasional clunk when accelerating and using clutch. Transmission mount?

Post

The car is a 93 Cabby, with the 1.8lt engine.

I've started noticing a clunk when using the clutch or accelerating and braking harder than usual. There seems to be less of a problem when I use the clutch more slowly and gently.

I jacked up the car and looked at the rear transmission mount, which visually appeared to be fine. The engine doesn't vibrate at idle either, but on sharp acceleration (in neutral) it does twist a few millimeters (that level of movement seems normal to me). I did notice, however, that the lower strut brace I installed a few months ago is only a few millimeters from touching the bottom of the transmission.

Would anyone know what could be causing this? Should I opt for a new transmission mount?

Well I would suspect the Transmission Mount on the rear, as I had a hell of a clunk, and my mount was totally gone.  Seems that my car rides quieter now and I don't have a torque clunk on my auto….. :)
And until it really goes bad, it will look normal, but the vulcanization of the rubber to the metal can be broke.

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
