New springs and shocks fitted now car feels all the dumps

My car is a 1.8 GtI. I fitted new Eibach springs / Bilstein B4 shocks and new oem bump stops all round last winter. Since then the car now feels every bump in the road. I live in the country where the roads are bad with pot holes and pore resurfacing. Is there any way to make the ride less harsh. I was thinking of cutting the bump stops down a little as i know the springs have a slight drop in them but i think its nothing to severe as i try to keep the car looking as standard as possible.

Any advise always appreciated.

If you are hitting the bump stops this suggests the damping is to soft or the spring rate for the vehicle weight is wrong, either way it shouldn't be the case

I am not sure it is riding all the time on the bump stops, this set up i believe is used by quite a few on here, i was just wondering if they had used the OEM bump stops or another kind. It is mainly the pot holes that are teeth chattering when driving, and maybe i am just being paranoid as to the ride stiffness.

You need to shorten the standard original bump stops if you fit lowered springs….

I take that it's as easy as just cutting through them, i understand that they are just rubber so a large hacksaw would do the job. Any ideas as to how much to cut off, again i know it is trial and error.

The car is just very slightly lower than standards was thinking of about a cm.

The problem being you need to cut out a section and glue the 2 ends together. The plastic cover fits into a groove on the end of the bump stop so you need to keep that end to hold the cover.

Are you going to remove the bump stops, eg. Remove top mount and springs to work on the bump stop?

Do you have a picture of the angle the wishbone is when the car is sat on its wheels as you can tell how much drop you have on the springs and you should know how much bump stop to remove.

I'll find a picture of how much I cut off when changing to lowered springs…

Sorry for the late reply. I am back in the UK later this week so hopefully i will get a chance to shorten my bump stops. Thanks for the advice as always.
