New alloy wheels

Post

Evening all

Been given a set of Speedline Audi 80 alloy wheels in 4x108 with an ET 37
Now if I find a set of hubcentric adaptors they will stick out past the archs as iirc spacers of 20mm will make the ET 07.

Has anyone had or know of anyone who has alloy wheel bolt holes welded and reweld for correct fitment.
They won't fit with out spacers anyway as it's hitting the suspension strut/spring.

Another question regarding the brakes.
It has a Mk2 master cylinder and servo but the brakes feel shocking, almost like there is no servo action, very small amount of movement when pumped and engine is started.
Would this be a symptom of not having some threads chopped of the brake bar behind? Have the feeling it's no benefit done, il be rebuilding another one but don't want to rebuild it and get the same feeling

you would end up with et17 on those with 20mm adaptors, might be able to squeeze em under but the handling will be affected. You would want to chat to local engineering shops to see about having them welded and re-drilled, shouldnt be a problem.

with the brakes if the servo hadnt been cut down the brakes would be stuck on all the time, it sounds to me like the servo is dead or there is no vacuum feed to it. perhaps the non-return valve(s) on the servo line were installed the wrong way round, I've made that mistake before
