Is there a part number for the plate from Mk1 1800 GTI 1983.?
and are they availabel from anywhere

try VW. the later mk2/3 version is worth having, the lower part is separate which makes removing the sump that little bit easier.

My 81diesel, and my 90cabby had a two piece tin.  One biggie the a separate one for the lower.  It came in real handy to have the lower when I poured 2l of 90 wt the clutch.  Hey I was new to VW water.  No Bentley was fighting noise,. Found out later it was hub caps….  Any way got oil off, clutch lasted another 130kmiles.  
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
