Confused about vw heritage g60 braided lines for mk1

Post

Hi guys,

Bought this G60 fronts braided lines set from VW Heritage; just need the front ones for my new g60 setup.

https://www.vwheritage.com/wc69805174p-goodridge-stainless-steel-braided-brake-hose-set-g60-front-and-stock-rear-vw-spare

I'm now really confused how they fit. Looking at the braided lines, they have female connectors…but my front calipers also have female connections… So am I missing a part to screw into the caliper and then screw the braided line onto?!

Also no idea what the short braided lines with the "ball type" ends are; and also what the big bolts in the bag are for…really confused! Help much appreciated!! IMG_20180622_095435.jpg

The ball  type and big bolts are for when rear discs are fitted, they go onto the caliper.  I think the front ones are wrong, although it may be possible to screw in an adaptor I don't see that as the best way to go..

Weird…my rear disc calipers definitely do not take that kind of ball fitting. But I only need the fronts anyway.

I'll get in touch with VW heritage and ask.

You got a link maybe to front ones you might think are correct? Thanks

So I spoke to VW Heritage who said my G60 calipers are missing a little metal bracket with a hardline adapter built into it (See first picture below).

As you can see from my calipers (the black ones), I don't have this bracket.

Anyone else come up against this before? They recommended I go to HEL to get custom brake lines made…seems expensive and I can't imagine we've all had to go get custom brake lines done!

Help much appreciated please…it's been too long sorting these bloody brakes! Picture 1.png Picture 2.jpg

In the photos I will hopefully put up, shows the end of a g60 hose that came in a g60 caliper I bought.  It shows a thread on the end, I don't know if this little bit actually unscrews.  Also shows the 2 ends from one of the long ones from a 6 piece kit I bought, forget where..

The bottom photo looks exactly like what I would need; a female fitting to screw onto the hard line and a male fitting to go into the caliper.

Suppose if I just knew the right threads for the mk1 hard line and the G60 caliper I could google for the right hose.

Anyone know this?
