Bump stops and cutting them down

Post

Can anyone tell me the length of an original set of GTI front bump stops please?

Im fitting shocks and springs (when the strut houses and spring caps come back from the powder coaters) and understand I need to cut the bump stops to match the drop of the spring, in my case 60mm front / 30mm rear.

Rears aren't an issue as I have original rears and they are very long so 30mm isnt an issue but I've got these Meyle front bump stops which came with my top mounts.

They are only 80mm long in total so cant really cut 60mm out of the centres.

Basicly I need to know if the bump stops I've got are already shorter than OEM spec? ?

Never knew the length...I do know that the bottom lip is what the dust shield is held on by so it you cut them cut then at the top or roundy end.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

I was planning on getting a bit out of the middle and bonding back together for a better finish but in this case I dont have enough material
