Just replaced the drums on the rear of my clipper (91)

either ive missed something as I can't see the wedge that my old golf used to have. Put the drums over the shoes that were on the car (still lot of meat left on them) but they are binding slightly and obv getting very hot, like I said have I missed something obv behind the drum of is it a different set up, (binding on n/s and o/s rear brakes
??.

Check under the plastic cover over the hand brake, you should be able to see the hand brake cables, make sure there is the same amount to thread showing on both cables and the locking nut is about 5mm from the end of the cable.

You should be able to see the wedge through one of the wheel bolt holes in the drum but you will need a torch, it's at about 10 o'clock. Get a screw driver and push the wedge all the way up of both sides then get some one to press the brake pedal hard and then pull both wedges down with the screw driver through the brake drum into the hole in the wedge, a philips head screw driver works best.

Picture of where the wedge is on this web site.
