Kjet DX fuel pump to accumulator hose

Post

Hi guys, I have a DX engine in my VW campervan using an inline gravity fed pump. The hoses from the pump to accumulator are rubber so wanted to get something more hefty for the pressure on.

It seems I have a choice of 2 parts:

533201220 or

171201220D

Are they the same fitting and just depends on where I want to put the accumulator?

yep exactly right, short oen is for post-84 cab/rocco with the accumulator in front of the fuel tank, long one is for pre-84 cabrocco and tintop git where the accumulator is further back on the rear chassis leg

OK and I guess the shorter one cannot be bent too much? Does the accumulator have to be mounted on its side? or could it be upright?

There seems to be a part that looks similar on ebay:

171201218D

However the seller thinks it is a fuel filter hose 171201218D ??. Can this part be used in place of the two I posted above, or is it a different fitting?

accumulator doesn't care on orientation, its just a chamber inside with a diaphragm :)

the banjo end on that hose is M14 unfortunately so it wont work on the fuel pump as thats M12. Unless you can replace the non-return valve on the fuel pump with one that has an M14 outlet :)

the short hose is reasonably flexible but dont push your luck!
