Fuel pump

Hi all, very new to the forum… Bought a MK1 cabriolet in need of resto and just working at it very slowly.
Could you tell me how this comes off. A lot I've seen on YouTube are all different to mine. TIA.

About 1/4 - 1/2 a turn. Will be quite tight so use some care and try to use as close fitting flat driver in the slots to avoid damage. Be careful when removing it from the tank and clear as much dirt as you can from round it before

In the past I've used the handles of some water pump pliers or tinsnips that were a tight fit in the slots and twist off.

Don't go walloping it, it will break bits off.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Remove it carefully as they are difficult to find if you break it.

Fuel pump

Thanks all for replys.
Not budging at all. Tried with flat head, but very worried will break. Seen there's tools you can get but again all look for different caps to mine.
