I ordered just the order day a fuel pump for my 1989 MK1 Golf cabriolet 1.8 auto .
As i usually do i didn't look at the pump in the shop but when i got home I decided to open the box, straight away it didn't look like what i was expecting, For some reason, i presumed i had a pickup pum p in the fuel tank' having looked a little more I'm not sure it is a lifter I'm after but don't nowhere this pump fits to here's a pic is this right?
Forgot to mention it has a webber

Its a mechanical pump that fits onto the front of the engine. 2 bolts and fuel connections in and out.
Don't forget to place the lever above the crank as if you place it wrong way it won't pump.

It's only fuel injection cabriolets (GTi) which have a lift pump in the tank and a fuel pump underneath the car as the k jet fuel injection system has to run at a high pressure.
Carb cars only need 1 fuel pump which is attached to the engine block.
