Fuel line fittings remove easily?

Post

Whipped off my banjo bolts from the fuel distributor to give them a clean up whilst the car is off the road, but do the fittings attached to the fuel line just pull off? I want to wire wheel clean them all as they have furred up and oxidised then zinc plate them all aswell as the bolts.

They lines are the braided type lines with a sort of metal sleeve behind the O shaped fitting

the lines are crimped into place, or shrunk fitted.  I replaced all my lines with new, as i don't think walls are thick enough to handle the erosion and  still be safe.  I'm currently looking at replacing my hoses to KR engined mk2 these have more exposed steel tubes both ends to go round meterhead and into head past the intake, these  get oxidised too.
When it comes to fuel and hoses my wife allows me to spend  as she says a burnt car is worth nothing.

Thanks for the reply Kenneth. It looked like they may well be crimped on but i hoped that they might not be. Ill just clean them up best i can and see how they fair up

I believe they are crimped on as the k-jet fuel system runs at a high pressure compared to most cars now a days.

I cleaned a set  off a kr with electrolysis and they came up well but the zinc coating came off so I painted them

Will kr injection hoses fit? They have metal tubes and come from opposite of engine.  ?

They fit my 16v, I'm saying I removed the rust from the ends with electrolysis without removing them from the braided lines or damaging them.

Oh ok.. I was thinking you was putting on 8v.. lol.  .
Do you have pictures of final finish.. not that I'm going to do as I'm more concerned with wall thickness, due erosion external(rust) and wear from fuel turbulence over the years.. if I ever get a set of new pipe ill cut and measure 30yr tubes.
