Exhaust recommendations 82 gti

Hi folks

Can anyone recommend a exhaust for a 1.6 gti  1982 , i looking for a complete system that isnt going to got rusty in just a few months , ideally want it to look as stock as possible especially the tail pipe and without any mega noise

I guess im thinking stainless steel would be the way to go

Stainless is what you want.. Possibly a header, and a resonator as they are a harmonic pneumatic sound suppressor, and a good silencer.

Just be sure that you take the time to get a heat shield on the header or down pipe to ward heat off the steering rack and cv boots.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Stainless steel exhaust will be louder than a stock exhaust as the metal is thinner.

If you want a standard look why not just fit a standard exhaust system, most good quality systems will last a fair few years?

Other option is get a stainless steel system make for you, most will come with a life time guarantee and you can spec what you want.
