Air shroud injector inserts 😬

I am overhaulling my engine whilst it's out awaiting my freshly resprayed shell! Woohoo!

I have removed the brass inserts and dug out the plastic inserts, question is before I reassemble with new, is should there be an o ring in between? The old ones didn't have one.
