Abf fuel system conversion

Post

I'm doing a Abf conversion.
I had a 1.8 20v in and ripped everything out tondo a full resto, and decided to go Abf and keep it old school.
The cars a 3door gti 1983.
The fuel tank only has a sender.. doesn't have the lift pump, unsure if it's supposed to have the lift pump however there is no wiring so I'd assume not.
I've lost all my accumulator bracket and pipewok, I think I threw it as it came off in a million pieces.

I'm thinking:
Use a new mk1 gti pump in the foam and cradle (which I have)
I've acquired a intank pump and sender unit.. and wiring so can wire this up.
I've also acquired a new plastic polo GT fuel filter/swirl pot things that's gone obsolete and sits underneath near the fuel pump.

I suffered fuel surge in the 20v as I never had a accumulator or swirl pot or lift pump and the fuel pump used to get noisy.

Can I run the lift pump, with new gti pump in the cradle underneath and get away without using an accumulator? Or will the polo gt be ok? Or will I need to find the brackets and accumulator for a mk1 gti?

Cheers

I believe you only need the accumulator if running k-jet, which i assume you are not..

No mate I won't be. From what I've researched it seems I can use the lift pump in tank and the external fuel pump and be alright.
