Fuel pipe piece Replacement

Post

Hi all.

Ive been under my 86 Cabriolet GTI and have noticed the steel hard line that goes from the Fuel Reservior/Swirl pot to the fuel pump is corroded and for safety i'd like to replace it .Has anyone here know or have done a replacement.Or can you source the piece?

Would it be a removal of the tank or can i just lower the tank?

Ive red arrowed the part and its part 15 on the second photo.

Thanks people in advance:thumbs:

part number is 533201297, been NLA for a while unfortunately.

pull it off the car and take a good look at it after buffing off all the rust, if its only surface a clean up and paint may be all it needs, its not under pressure.

worst case measure the i/d and look into bending up your own out of copper or kunifer pipe. With patience and a decent pipe bender shouldnt I'm sure you'll get there!
