Hello All,
After a little confirmation to my thinking. 1.8 DX gti
Car will spin over fine, lights/dash all working as expect, gauges, radio etc. Fuses all ok
No spark, no fuel.
Bridged the fuel pump, comes alive just fine.
Checked the wiring to the distributor, getting the volts as expected.
Took the distributor out, ignition on, turned the cog - no fuel pump
My workings;
Fuel pump, wiring, fuses, TCI are ok. Therefore goosed hall sensor?
Are there any symptoms to a degrading hall sensor?
Anything else to check? No sign earth's are bad, all recently cleaned and seen to. Car started and ran yesterday I may add.
Cheers,
Adam.

Hall sensor is easy to test

There was no voltage across any of the pins when cranking, on the multimeterpaul_c said
Hall sensor is easy to test
Likewise fuel pump wouldn't 'turn on' when turning by hand and wasn't sparking

What other wiring checks have you done?

Won't start in time for the MOT ?
Fuel pump bridged, and working ok.
Wiring to the hall sensor, ok, picking up voltage
Ignition coil - seeing voltage
Should there be more tests before assuming hall sensor?

When it turns over, does the rev counter show movement or not?
TCI checks:
(key on engine off)
terminal 4 should have 12V
terminal 2 should be a good ground
(key on trying to start)
terminal 1 at the TCI should show pulsing (a cheap multimeter will show some voltage there)
This is the same as terminal 1 on the coil, should show some pulsing while turning over.
When you say "ignition coil seeing voltage" do you mean terminal 15 or terminal 1?

Won't start in time for the MOT ?
Thanks for the run down Paul.
Looked through the list and checked, all ok. Went to earth's, TCI earth was broken. On looking more in-depth it was the crimp to the battery terminal broken.
Appreciate your time to reply
Cheers
