massive anologe clock? and temp and petrol guage and the miles not moving lack of ciggy lighter

hi all my very first post
ive bought a jetta mk1
firstly the massive anologe clock next to the speedo , can that be changed to a rev counter or something useful??
petrol and temp guage work for about 1 mile then stop any ideas??
the speedo works but the miles never change any ideas?
and no ciggy lighter hows everyone pluging there sat nav in etc

No Ciggie lighter, as in not installed, or not working.

Not working check the fuse, fuse good, then replace the socket or repair the ground points.  In the Archive section there are the how=to's in the ones that are Briano's there is a electrical one that is my ciggie lighter don't work or I can't charge my Ipod.

Replacing the analog clock with a Tach, yes.

fuel and water gauge not working after a few minutes, then that is the 10V stabilizer on the back of the cluster.

Go to a good electrical shop and get a lm7810 or FA-7819-aet.  50 cents versus 40 dolars on line for the same part.

odo not working then you have the red gear on the side of the speedo inside that is missing teeth or slipping on the shaft.  a drop of superglue can fix that.  Broken teeth buy a new gear.
