1.3 jetta to abf

I know this has been done to death but I'm really struggling with the wiring, from what I've read they're are different looms mine is a golf 3 immobilizer loom. I've got the key,box and ring to match. I've started to remove the excess from the loom but I'm having difficulty identifying what I can take out, all of the yellow plugs I've heard? How many wires do I acutely need to hook up to make it run? Wiring on these seems to be way over the top compared to the Vauxhalls and Ford's I've done previous. Cheers guys
