Trouble starting engine

Help please,I have a 1800 gti with a dx engine,when I go out to start it, it turn over and over  but then it will  try to go, if you push the throttle it dies,but after about a minute it will start with no throttle and pick up and run fine if you turn it off it start straight up,you can leave it for an hour and it will start easy, but when I go and out the next day it's back to turn over and over

Check your Grounds,  remove all connectors on the dizzy, and such then Spray insides with CRC Wire-Dry.

Is there a loud whine from the rear wheel arch?

After turning the key switch on, do you wait 4-5 seconds for the fuel pump to prime the system?

I can't hear anything for the rear wheelarch when I turn the key on but when I've tried to start the engine I can hear the pump,I'll try the spray later today thanks
