If not, does anyone know where I can source a good quality new one that is right for my car?
Thanks in advance

Yep, that would help - it's a MK1 GTI Cabriolet "F" Reg (1.8 8V).

Yes it should work. 251819015 is the same part code as the blower I put in my 1991 Clipper back in the spring.
Thanks. I've ordered and will give it a go.

Thanks for the tip, I managed to brute force the old one out, so should be able to do the reverse to refit!johnprogers said
There is a fitting guide on here that suggests splitting the fan in two in order to get it in, but I found I could wrangle it in place without, so I avoided the issue of putting it back together after splitting.

I had to do that to 2 of my 3 Cabriolets.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

I would also suggest that you check the cabin side of the heater fan connector as the brown ground wire got toasty and I had to splice a new wire to ground from the engine side of the cable to insulated male female connectors to frame ground.

Thanks, I'll check that out, too.
