Hi there my main Beam blue warning light has stopped working on my Mk1 gti cabriolet 1987, main beam works OK just the blue light. Also my indicator warning light glows dim all the time but the indicators work fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

It might be an earth issue, check for loose / worn / corroded brown wires. Start there anyhoo

Take the Cluster out, and Plump up the mylar I will link a how do I do that.

Add a new Ground to the cluster from the frame behind the X in the Cluster mount to Pin2 (brown) wire about 6" back.

LED's by nature are turned on or off by as little a .25- .5V difference, and the fact that yours are dim indicate to me that you have either an issue with the supply, that is 12vB+ from pin14 of the connection or Ground.

Then again LED's do go bad.  IIRC it is a white led, that has a blue cover over it.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

See the other thread with the same question. The main beam tell-tale is not an LED (or wasn't back in the '80s) so it blows and can be replaced with a genuine blue LED.
