Immobiliser/alarm

Post

Tonight I decided to take washer bottle off and clean. In doing so I decided to remove a black box sat next to it. This turned out to be some sort of siren with 998 vag 146 written on it. Does anyone know if this cam standard on 1991 cabbys. I seem to have separate immobiliser, so not sure if it works. The flashy light (tucked away) don't work. And there seems to be an extra box behind clusters (no room for pic)
Any info on this system would be great thanks.
Oh and I only have a normal key not a fob one

I'm not aware of them being fitted as an optional extra, fairly certain they weren't. 🤔

My only thought is it came from a much later car!

it would never have been a factory option, only dealer fit or aftermarket

Yes over here they were an aftermarket item, usually installed so that they and the aftermarket Radios would cause a Battery drain…….

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
