At cabby-info, the diagram for my dx engine (1985) should be this:

mine is this:
So now for the question: Is that 43 relay in the correct spot? Is it the correct one? Thanks!

43 is for the coolant level light in the temperature gauge.

If you notice on the fuse box relay diagram it's for USA cars, we don't have the seat belt warning or air con relay in the UK cars.

Have a look at this thread for UK cars.

Cabriolets were all German built, and not "USA" only.
The Early mk1's from about late 79-84 are the ones that are "Westy" or "Merican".

Cabriolets we all made by the Karmann Coach Works in Germany and then exported over here to the USA.

I was just saying that US cars seem to get all the extras fitted as standard like air con, power steering, seat belt warning, high level or 3rd brake light, side markers and not of these things are ever fitted to UK cars… I think that why the relay/ fuse boxes are different to our bog standard uk cars…

Well I suppose it is because we are "special" and gas is cheaper….  But A/C when it is 99 and sunny, and you are stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, you sure want a/c.  :)

The top of the fuse panel is layer 3 or floating relays, that is that any that add-on to the original fuse panel can be in any of those optional slots.

By a simple re-wire of the side markers you can have side repeaters that flash in opposite to the turn.

High Tail or not no-one ever sees it prior to impact, at least the 3 times I have been rear-ended.  :)

I don't know how many cars have those and or other brakes lights out….  For many of the other issues I blame California.
