How do you get to the Gearbox/Chassis earthing point?

Post

I've got a '93 Cabriolet and am trying to diagnose an electrical issue (no fuel pump) and wanted to check the earthing points.

I've cleaned the one on the rocker cover, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to get at the one that's attsached to the gearbox and chassis, tucked under the air filter.

Do I have to remove the entire fuel injection and air filter housing to get to it?

UPDATE 1:

I went underneath the car and saw something weird - the battery ground cable came down from the gearbox to the very front of the car where the air intake tube meets the body (just behind the bumper). This doesn't seem right to me - not only is the ground cables eyelet bigger than the screw that holds it (and the air intake tubing) in place, but it also attaches to a painted part of the car.

This doesn't seem right. Is this correct? Is there anywhere else I can attach it to?

UPDATE 2:

I see that the grounding connection to the chassis arm is intact and clean. This just leaves the question of where this 2nd eyelet gets attached to? The transmission?

There are 2 places I have seen over the years.

The transmission mount bracket bolt, or a shouldered stud on the transmission (usually on the firewall side of the Transmission upper.).

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
