Heater Blower works with keys out of ignition - where is it earthed?

Post

So, woes of the Golf continue! Got my heater motor working again, now found out it seems to turn on with the engine off and the keys out the ignition! Guessing it's earthing incorrectly somewhere, but does anyone know where it earths to?

I woke up the other day to a flat battery, so feel something is amiss and draining the battery constantly, but I had no lights/blowers/etc left on overnight, so not sure what! Hopefully the two issues are related!

The earth for the blower is usually on the left side of the heater box, where the Star Ground is.

I don't think earth is the issue, I would check my X circuit.

Or ignition switch.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks for the reply! What do you mean by X circuit? Not heard that term before

X circuit, is also called the load reduction.  There is a relay that makes supplies power to the blower lights and other high demand things, it is turned off at Start, and at key out, in the run position it is engaged or energized.
