Headlight switch bulb

Post

I noticed that there wasnt any bulb in the headlight switch, so i put a bulb in (LED) and have connected it all up.

However i have noticed that when the car is switched on the light comes on for the headlight switch, if i turn off the car then the light goes. This is whilst the headlights are not turned on….

Is this normal protocol?

I made my own with a micro super bright led, and a resistor.

But here are a couple of others.

the pn is N0177512 but that is the bulb.  My was a bulb and socket together.
So I suspect it all depends on what your socket looks like, and if the bulb is detachable.

Hey

I got these

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163067249750

I took the light bulb out, and soldier it to the wires.

But like Brian said you can get the proper bulb holders and then put the led in.

Also in hindsight i should have added a resistor as a safety feature. @briano123 do you know what resistor it should be?

450-680 Ohms 1/8 watt but it is determined by your LED and the Bias that it requires.

Help!!!!
I have tried to do the same thing changing the bulbs but failed as the bulbs don't simply slot in you have to attach a wire if im correct,
Anyway im not to bothered about the bulbs anymore im more concerned about how to put the switches back together as all the parts popped out and i have no idea where any of the parts go to seal the switch. Bak up and make it work correctly please help
