Faulty high beam

Post

Got the MoT next week and trying to sort a few things.
Currrnt problem is high beam.
It's there and it works (got a feeling the loom has been updated) but it won't stay on.
Tried a new switch but still getting the same problem.
Thinking it could be the stalk?

Cheers in advance

soudns liek the headlight switch or the wire from it. check headlight switch plug you should see ignition live on the black/yellow, and live on the white/black when switch is on the 2nd click. chase the wires from the switch to the stalk too

CHEers.
Problem are the two smaller wires on the back - black yellow and earth.  They're loose.
Looks like a need a new connector as it doesn't come apart

the 2 thin black/yellow and brown are for the wee illumination bulb, probably gone missing over the years is all :)

pics? they shoudl always have a connector, or at least spades. if its been soldered on direct captain bodger has been in there before you…

The Black/Yellow is 12V switched from the ignition switch make sure it is insulated with Heat Shrink on the Spad connector (same for the Hazards bare wires) and the smaller ground wire to prevent electrical fires.

Remember what "Smokey the Bear" says, "Only you can prevent Electrical fires…. :) "

Smokey was a bear cub found after a forest fire over here on this side of the pond, and he was used as a spokesbear for Fire Prevention.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Definately the bulb wires.  It's blown, would that be the cause?
Captain bridge has definately been there, there's a couple of pics on my build thread but I thought I'd sorted it.
Clearly not.
Taken the lot off to clean it all up.
Cheers

blown bulb wouldnt cause any issues by itself, apart from you wont be able to see the switch at night :P

let us know how you get on fixing it up!

Took the whole thing off and clean everything up and sorted the spades.
