Dash light fuse

Post

Right I’m in no way an electrician but I can sort of work my head round car electrics.

In the last year I have had to replace the fuse that does the dash lights/ number plate lights 7 times. It’s now time to sort the problem. I have checked and cleaned earth points behind fuse box and the same in engine bay. But it has blown again since. What else can I do before I take it to a auto electrician

Check for knockered wires from the headlight switch blue/gray wire to every light on the car…Sounds like you have one of them intermittently shorting to ground….

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Check the radio connections, the blue/white(grey) dash lighting wires are often hacked about to get lighting for the radio or extra gauges.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.
