Battery into the boot.

How to wire it

I'm sure it's been asked before but my googlefoo is weak tonight!

I'm assuming a single thick live to the starter (fused with a large fuse obviously!)

And a second live to the input of the fuse box, with a nice fat earth to the chasis near the battery.

Any suggestions on fuse ratings and cable guage and assuming I'm wrong (as usual) ammendments to the above greatly received

Ta Ian ;-)

you may find earthign to the chassis isnt good enough, ideally try to run a fat earth to the bay as well.  if you hunt in scrappy bmw and some jap cazrs have boot batteries rob all the parts from them.

if you have a nice pair of terminal blocks in the bay you can keep the battery wires from the fusebox same as factory, or if you prefer run fresh cables straight to the battery in the boot up to you

This reminds me of my 72 Rover 3500S.

Battery was in the boot, and it had heavy gauge wires to the Front.

Funniest thing was I took my Rover in to have the battery replaced back when they would replace it for you.

After about 40 minutes, I looked out in the shop and there were 3 mechanics looking all over hades under the hood for the Battery.

I laughed for a minute, then went out and opened the boot, and said, I think it is in here…. It was a beautiful DOH moment.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
