Alternator not charging

 hi guys and girls I I have a 1.8t engine in my MK1 Golf and for some reason my alternator ain't charging any idea if we could just go back to basics as if I'm only just getting it set up that would be great please any help would be most grateful

Simple test you need to put a meter across the battery to see what reading your getting.
Then from the + side of the alternator.
Compare the two readings.
Sometimes you get a loss from the old alt cables.

But general rule of thumb is the regulator pack is no good.
There’s a couple of different regulators depending on what Alt you have.

So if it’s the reg pack it’s around £8.00.
Take you about 30 mins to swap it over.

Morning chortle, that's wicked hopefully it's a simple fix because I'm trying to finalize things before it goes for mapping in a couple of weeks. I'll give this a whirl tonight, cheers.
