1.1 Alternator query

Hello, I'm in need of an alternator for my 1983 1.1 GG code formel e. Hoping someone can help me out on what I can use.

I believe it should be a 45 amp alternator? If that's the case, what would happen if I fitted a 55 amp or anything else?

I can't afford a brand new one and it's becoming quite difficult to find a second hand 45 amp.. I've found an alternator off a 1.3 though so wondering whether this will fit if it's 55 amp?

Should not be any problems fitting a larger amp alternator as long as the brackets etc are the same for a 1.1 and 1.3 engine (I have a big block so not up on small block engines)
It's a common upgrade on big block cars for people to go from a 55 amp alternator to a 90amp alternator with no problems.

Okay great thanks, had a feeling that was an upgrade people often did. Mounting should be the same so not worried about that. I'll try get hold of the alternator then    Cheers
