Holes in the outer sills

IMG_6024.JPG IMG_4904.JPG I have 2 round holes on both of the outer sill, they have not rusted through but i am wondering did the car come like that from the factory or has someone drilled into the sills at a later date, also should they have a rubber bung of some sort over them to keep the dirt out. I am putting some Eastwoods rust inhibitor into the sills and feel i should then seal the holes up?

Those appear to be for keeping the inner rockers dry to avoid rust….

I don't remember seeing those on my 81, and I know they aren't there on my 90's, but there are other Pucker drains in between the panels at the rear quarters on my Cabriolets, to allow water to Vacate the car, and not rust things up….

There are puckers at the door outer skin where it meets the inner door frame that can fill with debris and cause the doors to rot at the bottom…

Yellowed square.

I have also seen them along the rear under my clipper, and rear quarter… Keep then clean.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

They were there from the factory and should have blind grommets in them, two per side. I have one missing on mine but a 20mm blind grommet for electrical boxes fits in a treat. I have looked for some originals and the only ones I could find are these.
