Heater box pipe work

Post

Has anyone fitted a Samco silicone ancillary hose set? I need to know if I need to cut one of the two long pipes for the heater matrix in order to fit the heater valve. Also which way round should they go? I can't seem to find any useful pictures and my car didn't have a any of it connected so I've no idea which way it goes together.

These are the two pipes I am talking about

Fit the hoses at the matrix, one at a time
Then slide the grommet from the engine side of the firewall to the frame.  Once that is done then you can judge the cuts.

If you have a hose cutter (looks like a scissors but cuts hose ends square) it is easier to judge.

You could also measure your old hoses and cut to match.

One hose is going to be about the right length, the other you will trim to fit the heater valve.  IIRC the piece that I cut off of that one I used to connect the heater valve to the hard pipe.

I wasn't using the silicone hoses but the standard rubber ones.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks, I'll invest in some hose cutters and give it a go.
