Grille Fitment a bit off

Post

Hi All,

One thing that bothers me about my Golf is the way that the grille seems to sit high on the front on the car.

You can see from the first picture that the red stripe is almost touching the bonnet and there is a large gap at the bottom.

Yet, the bonnet (more or less) lines up with the wings.

Whats going on here? can anyone offer advice or help? I've added some more pictures, Is the bonnet catch weirdly sunken on my car and someone has tried to compensate? are the front wings wrong?

Can add more pictures if need be, any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Dave.

I know it's a almost a year since your post - did you resolve it? To be honest it looks ok to me.

I have the reverse problem in that the gap between the red grill and bonnet is too large - also there's too much of a gap on the grill corners from the bottom of the wing tops 🤔

I'll put some pics up later as this is mystifying, yet very worrying that something has gone wrong with the fitment of the front panel in some way.

Presently I haven't a bonnet catch fitted but it lines up with wing edges as you can see. It is sat on the screw in rubber adjusters.
