Golf Mk1 Cabriolet Top of rear wing repair panel needed

Post

I need a new hood for my Golf Mk1 Cabriolet.
Before I have this done - I need to repair some bubbling on the rear wing where the hood fastens to the car - drivers side.  Where the vertical section changes into horizontal - small strip of almost flat body.
I have searched and unable to source a repair panel for this part - does anyone know if they exist and if there is a stockist in the UK.
Many thanks

Chortle may know of where to source a replacement for that.
I believe it is called the u-channel 155813927

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Golf Mk1 Cabriolet Top of rear wing repair panel needed

VW stopped producing the Rear cable channel section a long time ago.

When we get a car in for a new hood we end up at time’s sending it to the bodyshop.
So he makes up new sections welds it all up, paints and we do the hood fitting.
It can be worse once the hood is removed and there’s fixing points for the hood behind there needed for the proper fitting of a hood.
