Fitting A Pillar trims on a 1983 GTI Tintop

Best stuff to stick these back on.

I woud like to re-fix the A pillar trims on my 1983 GTI tintop, one was removed when I viewed the car and I removed the other while viewing it just as I was suspicious as to why only one was attached!
Can anyone advise on some good quality adhesive to re-fix thses? The original adhesive is quite thick.
