Cabbie door pockets will mk2 fit?

Post

Hi all,

My 1990 cabbie is missing the door pockets and front speakers.

Mk1 door pockets are getting pretty pricey, I was wondering whether mk2 will fit as they give better speaker options?

thanks,

90-91.5 had the 4X6 pocket grills, and then in mid 91.5 they went with the 5 1/4 round and a high mounted tweeter in the door.

91.5-93

89 in lower left same as 90.

Thanks,

The mk2 pockets take a 13 cm speaker, but the high section is a little longer.

My concern was it would foul the winder, but it looks that it would be clear. They are quite a bit cheaper too.

Never knew the Mk2 golf had speakers in the door pockets the couple of Mk2 I've had the the speakers in the dash and little cubby holes in the doors, they where rather annoying as they kept coming open when you shut the door!

Maybe, they also won't follow the lines of the door trim.

Did you get the MK2 door pockets fitted, if so what did it take to get them in place and secure?

Looking at doing the same to my Cabby.

Thanks.

Hi, No, I stuck with standard ones in the end because of the way the door cards had been trimmed.
