C-post corner piece fitting- cabrio

hello all!
got my new C post corner seal and noticed that it has a littel tail that mine didnt had….
can i fit it without taking the roof down?!

Yes the old one has rotten away. You need to loosen main hood cable to create some slack and then feed the tail back. Although if roof fitted correctly chances of water are low at the point of tail.  Chortle will inform you maybe if see post

You have to remove the 2 screws on the outer corner cover, and the cover plate.
Slacken the rear cable, then you need to get a tad bit of slack between the top(hood) and the body.

It is a somewhat medium task.

When re-tightening the rear cable take care.  I would suggest marking the bolt with a sharpie so you can return it to the same place.
as if you get it too tight you chance snapping it.

You need a small spanner or something to stop the cable from twisting when doing up the nut on the end of the cable.

You may have to Drill the rivet and peal the top carefully back.


Also you would do better to half open the top and use a safety to hold it there.


Holding the top cable with a long pair of hemostats while using a 10, or 11mm Articulating speed wrench
