Boot Aperture rust under rubber seal - Advice on repair please

My MK1 is fairly rust free but when I removed the tailgate aperture seal I spotted some rust holes.  Any tips on repairing please.  I can weld but wanted some advice on best way to tackle the job.  Thanks

repair panels and donors to get the shaping correct. is it cabby,tintop,caddy?  

Again its gonna be cut and weld, filler and then paint, depends where you are if someone is closeby that you can get to see profile of the section will help
