Ahhh.. I saw them but for some reason thought they were the seals which sit on the underside of the bonnet itself!

Thanks very much!

The ones that Richard mentions are the ones that go under the bonnet, but i think you just use the same for where you need as well on the wing as well.

Hi,

Giving it a shot, trying to breath some life in to this thread again.

I was just wondering if the filling piece under the bonnet, parts number 171823729 were able to be fitted on to the wing next to rain tray?

If so, does anyone have a picture of it?

Cheers!

That is where it sits usually, and there is a matching piece under the bonnet that mates to the piece in the fender keeping exhaust gases out of the Fresh air inlet to the blower motor to prevent CO2 poisoning as you are driving covered in a cabriolet, or with the windows closed on a tin top.

Yes lower one is a little chewed

That was my understanding of it as well

But the piece between the scuttle tray and the chassis is no where to get hold of. So I was just wondering if that filling piece under the bonnet would do the job? Since that piece is available almost everywhere. Guessing it probably would need som fitting, cutting etc.

Buy Foam weather seal at a home or hardware store and cut it to fit, and I think mk1autohaus, or werk34.de has those you need 4 total 2 perside.

Thanks Brian!

You say I need 4 in total, i thought it was only 2 pieces under the bonnet? Am I mistaken?

Two in the bonnet, mates with 2 on the wings.

27 mates with 29 when closed.

Bonnet Seal - What am I missing?

Sounds good, only problem is that 29 is not available anymore. So I'll see if I can fit 27 where 29 is supposed to be

I used black double-cell weather striping that was dense, and had self sticky on it, shaped it to look like it should.
