Audi 80 door catch/lock modification

Hi all many moons ago I remember a post to modify Audi 80 door catch/lock 8A2 837 016A/8A2 837 015A to work on mk1 golf, I can not find the post. if any can explain or show me how to do the modification by any chance please?
