MK1 cabby with 16v conversion manifold help

Post

Hi all, I've recently picked up a Mk1 cabriolet project fitted with the Mk2 16v engine. my issue is the 4 to 1 manifold (presumably the std mk2 item) is sitting far too close to the steering rack boot. Does anyone know how i can resolve this or would i need to have the current manifold reworked?
I have seen Ashley exhausts do a manifold but being mild steel I am unsure of how good it will be.

i have a kr with a 4 branch in mine.
i wrapped the steering boot in a soldering mat, tied it off with stainless zip ties and its been fine for years.

That's good news I ended up wrapping it in a lot of left over exhaust wrap hopefully that will do the trick!

Even the 4,2,1 manifold on the 8v is very close to the UJ rubber boot, I also wrapped my manifold and UJ boot and it seems to of done the trick.
