Twin Cam V5 Conversion?

Post

Hi Guys, so I've decided to go down the route of a 20v V5 2.3 lump. (I can hear the groans!)

Now, am I best to utilise my existing fusebox (1990 Clipper) and get the loom converted or should I use the fusebox etc from the donor car? (2001 Mk4 Golf).

Cheers

i wouldn't recommend convertign to mk4 wiring, its gonna need a ton of effort to make it fit and you end up with a car harness which is 1 massive lump and doesnt split down like the ce1/2 looms do into sections (i.e. rear loom, dash loom, lightign loom, engien loom)

up to you of course. if the old ce1 loom is in good condition there is no problem tapping the mk4 ecu into it. if the loom is bad I'd be tempted to go for a ce2 fusebox swap, it woudl still need a fair bit of effort but its even more modular than the ce1 fusebox and has a lot more feeds thru the fusebox so dont need as many fly leads seperate from the fb etc

Thanks rubjohnny!

I think i'll down the route of modifying the mk4 loom then to fit my fusebox. I guess a lot can be chopped out of it too?
