Upgrade

What can I do to improve the ride comfort in my cabriolet?
The roads where I live are full of holes and speed humps and I'm fed up  with being jarred everytime  a hole or bump appears
It's impossible to miss them all 😂

Maybe help us with what suspension set up you have?

The original VW springs and shocks at standard ride height is the most comfortable as VW spent a lot of time and money getting it right.

How old are your shocks and what do the front top mounts look like, can you fit a finger between the metal cap and rubber?
What are rubber bushes like, if original then some new one will help.

If the shocks are newish and top mounts are good then maybe slow down for speed bumps and it's always a good idea to avoid pot holes.

The Mk1 set up is basic in design and unlike most modern cars with separate subframes and lots of arms linking the wheels to the car, the Mk1 has its wishbone bolted to the floor so you are going to feel more as that's why you can fell what the wheels are doing and get feed back from driving the car unlike modern stuff..
