MK2 wiper upgrade

Post

Bought a 5 pin VW MK2 wiper. Only 3 pins are used:
  1. 0V gnd
  2. Blue
  3. not used
  4. Red
  5. not used

MK1 wiper has 5 wires:
A) white/black - on the motor this is blue
B) brown - on the motor this is 0V gnd
C) green/yellow - on the motor this is red
D) green/black - on the motor this is white
E) green - on the motor this green

On the motor the green and red go inside the motor.
On the motor the blue and white go to a terminal on the motor.

I'm suspecting B->1, C->4 and E-> 2. Is this right?

What do I do with wires A and D on the old loom?

Please advise.

Assuming you have the later fuse box then this

Central Electric 1

Gives you the colours for the original wires to the wiper motor and their function

simply cut a plug off a donor mk2/3 then match the wire colours to the original mk1 loom.

either splice, crimp new 2.8mm latched spades on the mk1 wires, or crimp spades on the cut loom and push them to the mk1 wiper plug

I managed to get hold of a mk2 connector from Ebay. Works fine. Also, salvaged the old bracket and screwed it on to the MK2 motor.
