Yes they do break, why because of engine torque.
They need a flexure between the end of the header assembly and the cat or out pipe to the resonator
The reason is that break is where the engine/manifold/down pipe was trying to shove the rest of the exhaust to the front and rear of the car when it rev'ed or backed off.

This between the down pipe and the res. The original scirocco dual down had it there, as the one on my tt tuning dual down is at the manifold flange.
Here is a mk3 g60 4-2 manifold and dual down, the flexure is at the top. The Scirocco is at the bottom end. towards the res.

A bung. You can get it to any good muffler shop they can weld it in in minutes for less than 40USD on the down pipe, just extend the o2 sensor wires, the whites aren't polarized, just white to white and black to black.gafo said
I have the manifold sorted but it doesn’t have the hole to screw the lambda in. What is the said part I need ? I can’t think what it’s called. Thanks
